Know who is a Defensive Driver?

          One who reaches destination safely without any loss to one’s property and person, in the presence of road traffic and prevailing conditions

  • Maintains vehicle properly
  • Follows RRR (Rules Of Road Regulations)
  • Has apathy for other road user
  • Avoids distracted driving
  • Follows defensive driving technique
  • Parks vehicle at authorized parking

WHY WEAR HELMET?

  • Helmets reduce the risk of facial injuries by two-thirds

·         26,896 people died in 2017 on Indian roads for not fastening their seat belts. Don’t be one of them.

WHAT LAW SAYS

  • As per the provisions of sub-rule (3) of Rule 138 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, it shall be ensured that the driver, and the person seated in the front seat or the persons occupying front facing rear seats, as the case may be, wear the seat belts while the vehicle is in motion.

  •  INFORMATIVE

MANDATORY ROAD SIGNS:

  • These are circular in shape
  • These are order giving signs
  • Violation of these may lead to an accident or major traffic disruption
  • Violation attracts penalty/challan
  • Disobedience is  punishable offence

CAUTIONARY ROAD SIGNS:

  • These are triangular in shape
  • For warning and caution
  • For safety of road users 
  • No penalty or challan associated with these signs




ELECTRONIC ROAD SIGNALS

  • RED SIGNAL Prohibits any traffic to proceed ahead
  • FLASHING AMBER A cautionary signal. When ON  signal changes from green to red and it is  time to clear the road
  • GREEN LIGHT Allows traffic to proceed
